A big part of the reason why I am where I am today is because in my late teens, I decided to follow my heart, rather than follow along with the conventions of society. I feel that the shift happened after being immersed in University for a couple months. During that time, I found that my passion for everything was dissipating more and more by the day, until I finally decided to drop out. At this point I had NO idea what I was going to do with my life. All I knew is that what I was doing just didn’t *feel* right and deep down, and I felt like there was more to life than simply going to school, getting a 9 to 5 job, getting married, buying a house, etc. etc., not saying there is anything wrong or unsatisfactory about that path (to each their own) however I couldn’t deny this burning desire within to discover a path that would excite me and expand me in ways beyond the current path I was on.
I’m SO GLAD that I decided to drop out and pursue a lifestyle and career that truly aligned with my heart, even in the midst of adversity. Now it took a while to sort of decondition myself from the pressure of society to figure out what school/career I wanted to pursue. I remember battling with this thinking for YEARS, around age 19 to 21 was the most challenging! I always felt like there was something wrong with me and I was less than because I wasn’t in school like most of my other peers, and still didn’t have a clear direction. However, I noticed myself becoming more and more interested in “alternative,” holistic, spiritual ways of thinking, so I pursued this. I found the more I plugged myself into these passions (constantly reading, going to meetup groups to connect with like-minds, taking courses in holistic, “alternative” modalities) the more *relaxed* I became about “having to figure it all out.” I remember back around age 22, when I was really getting into quantum physics and quantum biofeedback, a boyfriend of mine at the time, as well as some extended family members did everything in their power to sway me in another direction. “You’ll never get a client doing that rubbish.” “You should go to a real school and then get a real job.” Even with so many people trying to convince me that I was on the wrong path, and basically NUTS, I was SO adamant that I was on the best path for me, because IT FELT SO DAMN GOOD!!!! I was SOO excited about everything I was researching/doing, and knew that I needed to keep immersing myself in these passions!!!
Throughout my early 20′s, I worked as a nanny, waitress, and model, but found that in every spare moment I had, I would be drawn to reading books about holistic health, wellness, quantum physics, and all things spiritual and esoteric. I found myself LIGHT UP every time I talked about these subjects and found that everywhere I went, I would magnetically attract people who would resonate with my words and be inspired greatly by my presence. : )
To this day, I continue to follow my heart and continue to experience the most incredibly rewarding, enriching, exciting life!!! : ) Now, I’m not saying that following your heart is easy, because stepping outside of the norm and outside of your comfort zone can be scary, messy, and challenging! You quite often come face to face with your biggest fears! In my life, there were and will continue to be small and big bumps in the road, but because I decide to simply *trust* in myself and the Universe (that it always has my back) I’ve pulled through every challenge I encountered, manifested so many beautifully, expansive experiences, and have gotten myself to the place I am today.
My overall message to everyone: Listen to your inner callings, what lights you up and makes you come alive!!! : ) Pursue these things and don’t give up just because you’re not seeing big results right away! It took me years of reading, studying, deconditioning, deep introspective work and expanding my comfort zone, followed by 2.5 years of making youtube videos, continual and regular effort/action on my part, and a continual stretching of my comfort zone before I had a steady client base online and a lifestyle that aligned with my heart’s true desires.
When you see others that are living their dreams, make sure you don’t begrudge them in any way because you never know the hurdles and work people have endured to get to where they are today. Also, that kind of energy *instantly* puts you out of alignment from your source, power, and creative potential. We are ALL innately capable of overcoming any challenge and manifesting the life of our dreams, however it takes a lot of courage and strength to actually listen to and *take action* on those callings. You can do it!!! If I can do it, you can do it!!! : )
It’s NEVER too late to say YES to your heart’s true callings!!! Remember, it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Where attention goes, energy flows. Meet the Universe half way by simply spending a little time every day immersing yourself in those passions and take some action! When you do this the Universe will step in and orchestrate SO MUCH MAGIC on your behalf, that you’ll be wondering, “OMG! OMG! WHY DIDN’T I DO THIS SOONER?!?!” : )
Remember, you are worthy! You are valuable! You are blessed! You are the unlimited potential of creation! You are an artist of love and light! *Trust* in your infinite light! You *will* manifest your divine purpose as long as you listen to and take action on your inner callings and see love as your guide, not fear!
“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive!!”
In love, light & TRUST in your heart’s callings!!! : )
